Sens. Ricardo Lara and Holly Mitchell Call for Breakthrough Juvenile Justice Reforms

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sens. Ricardo Lara and Holly Mitchell will hold a press conference on Monday, March 20, at a Sacramento elementary school to discuss a package of bills aimed at keeping young children out of the juvenile justice system and fixing inequity for youth and adults. They will also kick off the 50th anniversary marking the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that extended Miranda rights to young people accused of crimes. · WHAT: Press conference to introduce Equity and Justice bill package to reform California juvenile and criminal justice systems. · WHO: Sens.
